Here is our new (to us) colonial home.  We've always wanted a farmhouse style home, so this is very exciting.  We will be updating our blog often as we move in and get it ready!  Those trees laying in the yard are gone now, so we'll have plenty of new images coming up soon.

For today, here are a few images of the main level.  Above is our living room with its 7 foot fireplace and doors to the back deck.
Here is the half bath off of the living room.  We love the bead-board and having a window in the bathroom.
Here is the kitchen.  The sink is off to the left next to the dishwasher.  No fridge yet, that is coming soon.
Here is the other side of the kitchen with sinks, window to back yard, and door to garage visible.
Here is the breakfast room with a bay window.  We've always wanted a bay window and a breakfast room.  Two birds, one stone!
Here is the formal dining room as best we can photograph it.  It is 11 by 11, but there seems to be no way to get it all in one image.  Oh well.  It has a chandelier and chair rail, just like the rest of the level, but the best part is the 6 foot windows looking out on the yard.
Finally here is the entry way and its steps and coat closet.  Real hard wood steps!

Hope you like it!  We'll have images of the second and third levels coming over the next couple of days.  Then, we'll work on moving in and furnishing the home.  Advice and thoughts on how we should furnish it are welcome in the comments.

  1. Let us know what you think. We are going for a fairly traditional farmhouse look, with some nautical accents. Any ideas on products or finishes?
